Per quanto riguarda l'Autore il BENEZIT, alla voce Le Charpentier rimanda a Charpentier Etienne (1705 ca. - post 1764). Sembra più probabile però che si tratti di Charpentier François Philippe (Blois, 1734 - 1817)ma è possibile che si tratti di altro artista ancora. - Sotto al titolo: "Le tableau original est au Cabinet de Madame Geoffrin."
