Data incisione: 1744 . - Il titolo è su di un foglio in basso a sinistra; sopra l'immagine: "The Bearer hereof is Entitled (if he thinks proper,) to be a Bidder for M.r Hogarth's Pictures . - L'incisione venne utilizzata come biglietto d'ingresso all'asta del 1745 che Hogarth organizzò nella propria casa per vendere alcuni dei suoi dipinti . - L'immagine presenta una scena grottesca con le copie dei quadri antichi della casa d'asta Cock che riducono a mal partito (cioè sono preferite dai compratori) i quadri dell'Hogarth . - Cfr.
